Green Team

Our Green Team has made a fantastic effort to clean up the front of school area this week and it’s looking great. There is still lots to do and the group is very keen. If you’d like to help the Green Team they will be doing some more gardening clean up work next Thursday at 12:10pm. We’d love any interested whanau to join us.

Interim Principal

The Waiouru School Board of Trustees is pleased to introduce our Interim Principal for Term Two – Margaret Hyslop.

Kia ora, my name is Margaret Hyslop (my family and friends call me Marg or Margie).  I have been privileged to be the principal of three different rural primary schools and also previously had great opportunities to work as a teacher at all class levels in both primary and secondary (Y1 – Y13) during my long career in education.
I was raised in a large family on a dairy farm just outside Eketahuna under the Tararua ranges, beside the Makakahi  river.  My Dad served in the 22nd and 25th Battalions during WW2.  I am married to Bill who is a fencing contractor (previously sheep & beef farming) and we have four children and three grandchildren.  We reside in the beautiful Wairarapa (Masterton) on a lifestyle block.
I am really excited about working at Waiouru in Term 2, and am looking forward to meeting BOT, staff, students, whanau and school community.

Join Us this World Autism Month!

April is Autism month so we thought it was a great time to share information about ASD to our school community to help increase understanding and acceptance of people with autism.
We will add new information daily through out the month of April so keep an eye out.
